Rogers is a city in Northwestern Hennepin County, Minnesota. Located on either side of Interstate 94, with Minnesota State Highway 101 running north, Rogers has been teeming with growth the past 20 years. In 2012, Rogers annexed the surrounding Hassan Township giving the city a current population of 11,641.



In the 1880s John Rogers sold an acre of his land (then part of Hassan Township) to Great Northern Railroad for a dollar. The new depot provided a convenient stop for the rich timber resources of the area, and served as the beginning ground of a new community. When St. Martin Catholic Church and school were added, Rogers grew in local importance, consequently causing new businesses to be built and the town to be regarded as more of a local hub than other nearby communities such as Fletcher. In 1914 the city was incorporated.


Throughout the years the town grew slowly until, in 1972, Interstate 94 was constructed. The new freeway provided easy access to Twin Cities, causing additional businesses to build businesses in Rogers. As growth occurred, additional land was required, causing Rogers to annex more and more land from the surrounding Hassan Township. Hassan was completely annexed into Rogers on January 1, 2012.



The City of Rogers is home to more than 11,000 residents and has an active commercial and industrial sector. Businesses such as Graco, CDI, Dept. 56 and Reinhart FoodService have operations in Rogers. Exciting new commercial/industrial and retail developments, including HOM Furniture and Gander Mountain, continue to move into Rogers.



Three school districts serve the students in Rogers: Buffalo School District, Elk River School District and Osseo Area Schools. Rogers has multiple schools located in its borders including Rogers and Hassan Elementaries, Rogers Middle School, and Rogers High School. 


Parks and Recreation:

The Rogers Activity Center is home to the Youth Hockey Association and the High School Hockey Teams. It also hosts a variety of community events. 


The City of Rogers offers numerous parks and trails, many of which are available for rental.
